Friends of Sitka Circus Arts

Friends of Sitka Circus Arts (FOSCA), created in July 2016, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission “to support Sitka Cirque in promoting wellness, creativity, and exploration within safe spaces and broaden the accessibility to and involvement in circus arts.”

Scholarships

FOSCA offers financial aid to students who have a financial need, and who show high interest and dedication to the program. Scholarships are offered for the fall and spring semesters.

If you'd like to apply for a scholarship, print the form at the link below. Scholarship applications for the spring semester were due by December 15th, 2023.

If you would like to sponsor a student's scholarship, please contact FOSCA board member Donna Donohoe at (907) 747-5100.

Produce Performances

Another way FOSCA advances their purpose is by producing aerial performances. Whether they are smaller student showcases at the Sitka Cirque Studio or larger productions at the Performing Arts Center, the performances that FOSCA organizes provide students opportunities for creative expression, and give Sitkan audiences another option for artistic and athletic enjoyment. FOSCA is responsible for marketing, theater rental, ticket sales, budget management, community outreach, volunteer coordination & set design.
The proceeds from FOSCA’s productions helps to fund future performance opportunities and provide need-based circus scholarships for local Sitka youth and adults.

Get Involved

Our productions would not be possible without a high level of community support.  We depend on volunteers for the success of our shows.  The need is particularly great for spring performances, especially when they are staged at the PAC.  We are always looking for help with costuming, sets, hair and make-up, backstage monitoring and ushering, plus contributing to and manning concessions tables.  Student showcases require a team to transform the studio into a performance space and back.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to join the Board, please contact FOSCA at friendsofsitkacirque@gmail.com

And, of course, FOSCA is always happy to take donations to support our mission!
